Some areas are not accessible, such as the climb to the dome or the bell tower, as they have narrow staircases and many steps. They are not accessible for wheelchairs, strollers, people with heart conditions or pregnant women.

Inside the cathedral, assistance staff are available, along with rest areas and adapted toilets. For visitors with hearing or visual disabilities, support materials and adapted explanations are available, and advance booking is required.

The opening hours of the Duomo complex vary depending on the monument, but generally:

  • Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore: Monday to Saturday from 10:15 to 15:45.
  • Brunelleschi's Dome: open Monday to Friday from 08:15 to 19:30, Saturdays from 08:15 to 17:45 and Sundays from 12:45 to 15:45.
